Nodes p { margin-bottom: 0.08in; }

A node can be a a multiprocessing system or a work station. In other work it an intersection between various elements that flow in a same place (cluster). A cluster may be formed by dedicated nodes and/or non dedicated nodes.

Dedicated nodes don't have a monitor, mouse or keyboard and their sole purpose is to do any work that is related to the cluster (running services). Mean while a non-dedicated node has a mouse, keyboard and a monitor. Their task doesn't only include to the server. In this case the nodes that are not in used by the user are used by the cluster do cluster related work.

It is important to keep in mind that when building a cluster it's essential that all nodes have similar characteristics. This way the cluster will be able to delegate the work load more efficiently. If the nodes are not similar the most likely thing to happen is that the cluster will put all of the work load on the biggest node. Only when this node is overworked is when it will delegate the load to the other nodes. Making the cluster inefficient.

Server cluster

What is a server cluster? To put it is simple term a server cluster is a group of computers called nod working as one. Think about it as a team. Each nod does a specific task and together they complete one objective. This objective can be one of the following three Availability, Load balancing and High performance.

Availability mean that all of your nodes are working at all times and that they communicate with each other. Now if for any reason one goes down or is compromised the other nodes will come to its aid and do the job that node was performing. Now you don't have to have all your nodes running every time your node managed can control them remotely.

Load balancing is when you have a huge task that need to get done an it need to be done now. What the cluster does is delegate the work between your nodes which make the job go much more smoother.

High performance now with a single server one would not have as much power as a cluster. The beauty of cluster is that is performance is multiplied by the times of nodes your have. The way to make them work one unstoppable force.
